Comparison Methodology and Corrections Policy
OmegleVC publishes comparisons to help readers understand meaningful differences between random-chat services. This page explains our commercial interest, source standards, review process, and how to request a correction.
Our disclosure
Comparisons on this website are written and published by OmegleVC. We therefore have a commercial interest when OmegleVC is included. A “recommended” label represents our editorial conclusion, not an independent award. Competitors do not approve our pages and are not implied to endorse OmegleVC.
What we compare
Chat formats
Whether a service publicly offers video, voice, text, one-to-one matching, group rooms, or broadcasting.
Access requirements
Whether a user can begin the core experience in a browser and whether registration, payment, or an app is required.
Controls and safety
Publicly documented skip, block, report, moderation, age, privacy, and community-rule information.
Availability and pricing
Only pricing and availability that can be verified on the date shown on the comparison page.
How facts are checked
Use first-party sources first
We prioritize an official product page, help center, privacy policy, terms, community rules, pricing page, or app-store listing. When an important claim comes from a third party, the comparison should identify that source clearly.
Separate fact from judgment
Feature availability and account requirements are treated as checkable facts. Labels such as “best for” are editorial judgments and should be explained by the criteria on the page rather than presented as universal truth.
Show the review date
Products change. Each substantive comparison should show when it was reviewed and link to the source used for time-sensitive claims. We target a review at least every three months, and sooner after a reported change.
Corrections and significant updates
If a feature, policy, price, or availability statement is wrong, email the exact page URL, disputed sentence, and a first-party source showing the current information. We review correction requests and update supported errors. A material change to the conclusion, table, or safety information should also update the visible review date.
